Fellow Podders (?).  After a couple days of hard rain I made the most unpleasant discovery of a damp floor mat right at the steps.  No obvious gaps in the roof but I need to look more closely.  I pressed the "seam" along the rood right next to the door and water dripped out...and had already been dripping,  Also probably not so coincidentally you can see some ants in the light fixture that weren't there before.  Any suggestions where to look?  Logic would say it must be an area toward the roof directly over the leak.....but I've been wrong before.  Appreciate any thoughts

Hi Michael,
Which model do you have?  I can tell by colors it's about the same age as my 172 (2016) and I'm wondering if you have a model that has the door behind the spoiler. If so, its a likely culprit and there are lots of discussions on here about how to address it (I just had to do so).

I should have thought to include. It's a 2016 179, and yes indeed there's a spoiler toward the back right above the "kitchen window".  Strange thing though is the spoiler looks like it's almost situated lower than where the leak was coming from (or real close anyway). I appreciate the tip

If you consider the thickness of the roof, the spoiler may not actually be lower than the place where you see the leak. There are also other places to check. You will need to go up and look at the condition of the sealant around the vent stacks, the fan, and the TV antenna. Water may be entering in at a completely different place than where you see it on the inside.

Yup, I had a leak in the spring that was dripping on the right side of the camper, yet, the leak was actually on the left side of the camper. I took my garden hose and only allowed it to spray on small sections at a time, till it started to leak, then I had an idea where the leak started. Good luck.

The leak will can travel along the insides of the roof, happened to me.
The caulk around the bathroom vent had what appeared to be an air bubble just under the surface, it cracked on the surface just the smallest amount. The water was dripping down over towards the center of my pod by the AC about 3 feet from the vent.

Filled with caulk and that fixed it.
