Taking off in our only slightly used but new to us R-POD 179 (2017).  We are calling it our shakedown cruise and we will be more daring and stay longer on another trip later in the month.  Glad to meet everyone.

Steve and Tracy

Welcome and congratulations on your RPod. I hope you have many fun adventures and make many great memories with it. We've enjoyed our 2016 RP179 even though our planned trips for this year were cancelled/postponed. I'm hoping we can get a local camping trip in this month.

Kewl, the blue model has some good add ons, like electric tongue jack, shower surround, longer dump tube storage etc.. Enjoy the mountains.

Enjoy your time in the Rockies!  That is our favorite place to camp.  Last September we spent a month between Cotopaxe, RMNP, and Arches.  Is the air quality beginning to improve?

Back from Maiden Voyage in the nearby mountains of Colorado.  Learned a great deal about the 179 and had a great time. Still much to learn.  Saw lots of deer, a few mountain goats, and smaller animals, including a squirrel who seemed to want to go home with us! Came home at the right time, since today it is snowing about 10 inches up there at 9,800 elevation where we were, and the weather down in the valley where I live has cooled forty-five degrees from our recent overheated temperatures of mid to high 90s..  There will be better fall camping weather ahead.

Welcome! Our first Rpod was a "barely used" 2017 179. Over time we found evidence that it'd been to Alaska and all over the west. We towed it thru OR, ID, and western MT without any issues other than a tail light that went off till we took it out, then it'd stay on till it didn't. I added a shelf over the bed on the valences for light storage and a longer sewer hose holder.  We liked it well enough we moved up in space with the same general layout. I thru a set of cable chains in the back of the storage compartment for just what you were talking about. Have fun!

A 2009 Kia Borrego, only made in 2009 and a brand victim of the Great Recession.  It is an SUV on a truck body.  Pulls it nicely but I will not set any speed records (nor should I) climbing over the mountains.
