We’re owners of a 2020 19.5’ Rpod for less than a year now. Just wondering if any of you have had the kitchen sink detach from the countertop. Woke up this morning to find one side of ours has come off and 2 screws had fallen out. The adhesive has failed too. Luckily, no water or dishes in it! Just looking for a fix while camping. Have it duct taped now and will be washing dishes in the bathroom. 😝 Any suggestions on how to fix this permanently? The countertop is partial board and the screws don’t have washers (just flanges) so apparently this could happen again and again!

Very common problem with the newer under counter sinks. Bad design, bad execution. Screws in particle board - bad. Water penetration into board edges - bad. Fighting gravity - bad.

Best fix: remove the sink and install a drop in sink.
Less good fix: larger screws and washers, but don't expect that to be a lasting fix.

I love the duct tape temporary fix.

Thanks for the heads up. 😢 It’s too bad tho, my sink is so pretty! No wonder it won’t last. 😢 Love your flow chart and so glad we have duct tape on hand. Of course I packed everything BUT a new kitchen sink, so we’ll be using paper plates for a week. This is only the 6th time we’ve used our unit and it’s still under warranty. That’s the good news. Thanks again. 🙏

Interesting.  Our 195 has this sink:

Pretty is a s pretty does.....

Please let us know what FR is willing to do for you.

Any bets on whether or not FR will want to just tack the sink back up there and let the warranty time out?

Many podders have replaced the undermount sink with a drop in model.  Elkay and Delta both make a single bowl bar sink that will fit in most cases. It does require enlarging the countertop cutout and repiping the supply and drain lines. I did ours and replaced the cheap faucet at the same time. It is much better.
good luck

Our sink is the undercounter large round sink in the second image.

So obviously, the dealer should be able to replace ours with this top mount edition!

Thanks but ours is the undercounter round model posted by another member. I appreciate your response though!

It might be possible for the dealer to install the newer top-mount round sink shown in the first image, but I think the dealer would just reinstall the undermount sink and call it a day. There should be sealant around the lip of the undermount sink, both to keep moisture out and to help it to stay in place. If there is none, I would recommend something like Lexel which is water resistant (not for use in prolonged submersion though). Since that seam is unlikely to have prolonged submersion, it should work quite well. Unlike silicone, it is paintable.

Thanks Stephen H. We had a discussion with the dealer and it sounds like he’ll be willing to go the extra mile and install the top mount sink. Will see...
In the meantime will search for Lexel along our route this morning.
Thanks much!
