Hi Y’all,  I’m the new owner of a 2019 R-Pod 189.  I just love it...   but can’t get either tv to pick up local channels.  Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have a 2015, I have to be in a location to receive channels, I have to do a search each time I relocate and I have to have my amplifier on. That's for me.

+1 on making sure the amplifier is on and scanning for channels in every new location. It is not automatic.

Hopefully you know where the booster button is. It should be switched on (pushed in) and the red light is lit, to either watch t.v. or listen to the radio. Make sure you switch it off when your done, it will kill the battery.

With the radio we have, I have not needed to have the booster on to listen to the radio in our 2016 RP179. Perhaps the newer units are different though.

If that is the case you need a new battery or a better charging system. The TV pre-amp does not use much power. In fact the propane detector uses more power than the TV pre-amp.

Hubby and I just spent several hours working on tvs and lack of signals..  nothing helps.
He took the box loose and it appears to be hooked up, but is acting like it has no antenna..
Is there a wiring diagram or manual on the antenna?

Do you have the Jensen television and entertainment unit or is your radio the Furrion unit?

Are you sure that their are channels available over the air where you are located?

+1. I have been in more than one location where a scan picked up no channels or maybe one channel too weak to watch. Have you been able to get channels in other locations?

The wiring will be dependent on the antenna. I know when I replaced the batwing with the disc, I eliminated a lot of wiring. Much simpler install especially for Amp power. As I recall I did a review.

I had an old wall mount, flexible antenna that I used in an Aliner...  years ago.
I dug it out and took it to the R-Pod, where we hooked it straight to the tvs.
They each found 20+ channels with great pictures.

So......  it’s definitely the R-Pod antenna....

What would you do?

So you verified that a replacement antenna works. Personnaly I would do what I did with my old batwing, ditch it and replace the antenna. Easy to check to see if amp is getting power, or possible amp is bad. Antennas are not that expensive, most work is in waterproof install. That would be my action.

If there was supposed to be a link in that, it did not show up.

Omni's are relatively easy to install. But one that looks like yours. It will have wiring directions. There is a chance the amp is bad.

That ant has 12V that energizes the amp when the amp button is pushed, if the red light comes on, and you have 12V to the amp wire, the amp may not be working. That will be your problem. You will get no reception without amp. The amp is in the ant. Best to just replace, they are not that pricey.

This is the antenna I purchased after I broke the 2nd batwing antenna:  https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B010SP0IY4/ - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B010SP0IY4/ . I bought it because the base was the same as what was already there so I did not need to remove the base which was still in good shape. Unfortunately, it is not available on Amazon, but may be from other sources.

This one looks similar, but the base may need to be changed:  https://smile.amazon.com/Magnadyne-RVTV-W2-SEPARATE-F-CONNECTOR-CONNECTIONS/dp/B00USE3JF6/ - https://smile.amazon.com/Magnadyne-RVTV-W2-SEPARATE-F-CONNECTOR-CONNECTIONS/dp/B00USE3JF6/ .

Both of these come with a new wall plate. You may find that you might need additional wiring if the existing wiring won't quite reach the connections on your stereo unit.

I have not seen anywhere that the OP has said that they are turning on the antennea booster switch. You MUST have the booster switch on, before seaching for channels. It's a tiny little button on the wall behind the t.v. . You push it in, a red light, lights up. Have you turned on the booster ???? Do you know where it is??

True, however numerous posts have mentioned that and at top of this page I told them how to troubleshoot, so at this point I'm assuming they know that.

We have tried it on and off with the booster  ....  no luck
We called Forest River service and they are working to figure this out
