I have a 2017 171.

Does it have backup lights?

Also, my running lights cut on with the headlights but, stay on when I cut off the headlights. I have to unplug the camper from my truck to get the lights off. They reset to off until I cut the truck headlights on again then they stay on.

Any ideas?

I don't actually know if the pods have reverse lights. I've never been behind it while I was backing up.LOL As far as the running lights staying on, I guess your tow vehicle must continue to put out power after the lights are shut off. Perhaps it only stays lit for a minute or so after shut off, as a courtesy light while you walk in the house??

No reverse lights on the pods. Money saving, of course.

As far as lights staying on, that has to coming from your tow vehicle., Unless there is some kind of backfeed from the r-pod battery to the running lights, which would be.....weird.

There is a delay in lights turning off on our Frontier. That is controlled by the Frontier. I think it is to let you have lights if you get home and it is dark. After a minute or so, all the lights turn off. Something similar may be happening. If it is an extended period and the lights are not turning off, you would need to check your owner's manual or consult your brand's dealer to diagnose why. The RPod is just passive in this.

Do a Google search, there is apparently a known problem with F150's doing that, sometimes only when towing, other times just the truck does it.

The running lights on/off comes from the tow vehicle. On our F-150, those lights time out after a short while. I think you can set the delay either in the console, or through Forscan. If the trailer has backup lights (pretty sure most Rpods do not), the power would also come from the tow vehicle. I know our F-150 supports it, but I don't know about yours.

Thank you for all of the replies. I can live without backup lights and the running lights do time off.
