Purchased a 2017 171 and brought it home (3 hour drive) to Charleston, SC.  The owner said they were the original tires. Just replaced them and one of the tires had a big bubble on the tread.

Disaster avoided.

Congratulations and welcome! I hope you have many fun adventures and make many great memories with your RP171. That was a really smart move to replace the tires.

Welcome.

If the previous owner didn't maintain things it might be a good idea to also do a brake inspection/bearing repack before any long trip.

If it was a green one, then it was manufactured in 2016. That would imply the tires were at least 4 years old, and possibly 5, depending on the luck of the draw.

No just the two. I figured the spare has never been used and has been under the cover so I figured it would be OK to get me where I could get the main tire repaired.Ouch

Replaced the originals with Carlisle's and jumped up to a Load Range D.

Yes, The owner was kind enough to have the wheel bearing serviced and the brakes checked. They just missed the bubble on the tread? My mechanic said the steel belt shifted.
