I am searching everywhere for a pretty big toolbox but that isn't higher than 9 1/8" so that it'll fit into the through storage compartment at the rear of my R Pod 172.

I bought the classic orange "Homer Box" at Home Depot, but it's about a 1/2" too tall.  I'd like a box about that size though - I know there are plenty of "craft boxes" that would easily fit.

Thanks!
Mike

Look for a tool kit like this one at Harbor Freight. It fits well into the storage and has almost all the tools needed for minor maintenance except for a breaker bar, torque wrench, and the sockets for things like lug nuts, anode rod, and checking/tightening hitch bolts.

I carry one of these sets plus the other tools needed separately in a bag or in the box on trailer tray.

Thank you, but I am looking for an empty toolbox to store the tools I already own.

I use a soft toolbag which I can  adjust the shape of and store wherever I want.

BTW, Are you sure you want to keep your tools in the rear of the trailer? That's generally not the best place to hang weight because it lowers the tongue weight and makes the trailer more sway prone. I keep my tool bag as far forward in the tow vehicle as possible, directly behind the front passenger seat.

Amazon claims that this tool box is 9.13" high.   http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0032Y8RIS?pf_rd_r=6E58VHN7DQVXKJ7R25RV&pf_rd_p=edaba0ee-c2fe-4124-9f5d-b31d6b1bfbee - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0032Y8RIS?pf_rd_r=6E58VHN7DQVXKJ7R25RV&pf_rd_p=edaba0ee-c2fe-4124-9f5d-b31d6b1bfbee

It's not, unfortunately.  Amazon mixed the height and width.  It's more than 10" high.

Not surprising.  They often get their dimensions messed up.  Sorry for the bad lead.
