Hello, I know this topic has been discussed more than once but I was unable to find the answer to this particular question. I bought the Flexco replacement step knowing the holes don't align. A couple posters said they were able to elongate the holes in the rear to match with a titanium drill bit. My question is (if anyone's also done this) would I be elongating the hole on the new steps or the holes on the Rpod? Also not sure why the rear holes were mentioned but maybe that will be obvious when I go to start on it And after that's done....it seems like I would have a potential stability issues because the holes are wider than the bolt. I did this mod. Once you place step in position you will see why rear holes have to be elongated - on step. On the step I bought, I needed to cut a notch at the back of the bracket so that the assembly would sit closer to the door and not leave a trip-hazard gap at the door. You can see it in my mods. I still needed to drill holes, but it has worked out well.

I bought and attached the Flexco step about 2 years ago. And yes you do have to make the rear holes a little bigger. We did not encounter a problem w/ that. What I did have an issue w/ was the bottom step. After using it a couple of time it wouldn't stay horizontal due to the fact that it pushed the stair frame apart (not the frame attached to the trailer) and the step no longer hit the tabs that kept it from tilting downward. I fixed this by drilling holes into the frame near the tabs and inserting a threaded rod. This allows me to make adjustments if the frame spreads any more.
