Here's one that I don't remember seeing on the forum.  Our pod is stored covered in our yard all year long.  Last fall while winterizing, I saw a couple of ants in the unit.  I spread Spectracide's Triazicide Insect Killer under the pod but especially around each of the wheels and each of the stabilizers.  W/in the pod where I had seen the ants I spread some Diatomaceous Earth since it is supposed to kill the ants w/out being poisonous to us.  I even spread some Triazicide around earlier this spring.  Well, just came back in from opening the pod and found ants in many areas.

It has been a rainy spring here in NE Illinois (anther new record for the month of May) and can see ants moving in other parts of the yard as well.  I have never had this problem before and was wondering if there is anything that any of you have used that has been an effective deterrent.
Thanks

Boric Acid powder is also effective for ants (and roaches). Dust that in cracks and crevices and the ants will get it and take it back to the nest, killing the queen and eventually, no more ants. I've had a similar problem this spring where they were all over the RPod. I sprayed around it and put ant baits inside. They did not seem to be going for that, so I dusted the inside of the refrigerator compartment where they seemed to be heading plus some other areas. I think that took care of it, though I will keep checking to make sure.

If you don't have pets such as dogs and cats or children in the area we have found that Terro does a wonderful job.  A few drops on a piece of cardboard in a few areas in problem areas is all that is needed.  Ants find the honey like substance, bring it to the nest, feed the family, and the nest is eliminated. Hardware stores are most likely to carry this product.

Funny you mentioned ants. For the first time ever, I had a small ant problem. Whenever I setup, one of my checklist items is to spray the entire stabilizer area.

+1 - I have moved in on them. I carry Specrtacide with me and spray after set up, also while there. I brought some home from AL one time, took awhile to kill them.
