Sorry about the picture, cannot get it to sit upright.  Anyway it was time to replace our 9 year old toilet in the 177.  Still worked fine, but my wife has a knee that doesn't so . . . Amazon to the rescue.  Old toilet floor to seat height was 12.5", new toilet, also made by Thetford, floor to seat height is 17" !!  Much, much better.  Easy job, but you do need to add an additional 4.5" of pex plumbing to the supply line so that it will function.  Thank you Tars Tarkas for the suggestion to use Sharkbite couplings, they are amazing.  Total time to change out, 1 hour.

Thanks for the report (and the hat tip).  Yeah, Sharkbite connectors have been around for a while now, but they are kind of niche product.  The first time you use them they are almost unbelievable.

Standard PEX clamp connectors are more reliable, and much cheaper, but you do have the one time investment in the proper tool. Once you have that tool though, and its not that expensive. if you are a homeowner, you'll most likely wind up replacing other copper or polybutylene plumbing with PEX over time, because it is both easy, inexpensive, and superior in many ways.
