We're just about to go pick up a 2015 171, our very first RV.
The first challenge will be backing it into our driveway...

Welcome to the forum.  And good luck with the backing.  It's always a thrill.

Congratulations and welcome! I hope you have many fun adventures and make many great memories with your RPod.

As for backing, try to find an empty parking lot on your way home and practice. The old trick is to put your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel. Then if you want the trailer to go left, move your hand to the left, right to the right.  A lot of patience and a good spotter help also.

Welcome.

Most backing problems are created by attempting to make big changes in direction and overcorrecting. Hand on bottom of wheel as StephenH says, keep things straight, back slowly and make small adjustments,  Don't try to make big turns backing a trailer, at least not until you first become proficient just backing more or less straight.

Congrats!!

Take your time when maneuvering... no one ever got a prize for the fastest backer-upper! :-)

And don't forget to take your anti-sway bar off before backing up

Welcome to the forum.
Like a lot of things backing gets easier the more you do it.

Congrats! and to add just a little to what the others have said; steer from the bottom, and easy does it. One other thing, as soon as you see it is "going wrong", there is no penalty for going forward just enough to straighten things out and then give it another go. I did that a lot until I got the hang of it.

2-way radios are a great accessory too; either FRS or GMRS (GMRS requires a license).
