Howdy all, I really appreciate the quality of information on this board so it is where I come with all my questions, so here is another. Is it advisable to charge my really expensive Macbook Pro laptop from an inverter? I wired a dc outlet inside my pod and plug an inverter into it on the rare occasion that I need 110. However I'm about to leave for a three month trip to Canada and, as a photographer I will use my laptop extensively. I almost never hook up to shore power so rely on my batteries and solar panel. Thanks for the great information I know is coming!

If you're worried about damage to your laptop power supply get a true sine wave inverter. Even with a cheap "modified sine wave" inverter - actually a modified square wave inverter, the worst thing  that would happen is that it might tend to overheat your Macbook charger, not the Macbook itself.  Or you might consider getting something like this and skipping the inverter.

Wow that little charger sounds almost too good to be true, but I guess it is. Thanks for sharing that; it seems like the way to go.

I ordered one today.  We'll try it out in a week.  It'll get some heavy use between my wife and granddaughter.

Never been a fan of inverting DC to AC just to convert back to DC..
