I have a 2015 Model 179 and am getting an E1 error on the thermostat when I try to turn on the heater, Ac or fan. I reset the thermostat (by holding down the on/off button and + button at the same time) but I still get the E1 error. Does anyone have experience with the E1 error message?

Thanks in advance.

Bret

Thermostat E-codes R-Pod

E1 Loss of communication between the Single Zone LCD thermostat and the module

board. LCD will cycle between E1 and the previous mode setting. System

will shut down.

E2 Open circuit or out of range Indoor Temperature Sensor. Heating and cooling

operation will be locked out. Fan operation can continue to operate.

E3 Shorted Indoor Temperature Sensor. Heating and cooling operation will be

locked out. Fan operation can continue to operate.

E4 Open circuit or out of range Outdoor Temperature Sensor (select models). Heat

Pump operation will be locked out. Air Conditioner, Fan and Furnace operation

can continue to operate.

E5 Open circuit or out of range Freeze Sensor. Air conditioner mode of operation

will be locked out. Furnace, heat strip, heat pump and fan mode of operation can

continue to operate but displays the last temperature set-point.

Are you still suffering from this problem? Well, E1 error means your valve has been in closed position. Always make sure that mounting bracket and adapter are attached properly to the radiator. A thermostat is a component that performs an action so that your system temperature is maintained at a desired point. As we all know that how heater, air conditioner, etc. are important for us in every season.

We too are getting an E1 code on the thermostat. We live in Mexico without repair services available. Exactly how do we go about fixing this?
Thanks guys

This explains what the code means, but I have no idea how to address the issue.

Well doggone! You were the ones I was counting on. So I know where the thermostat is but not sure if there is a module board near it/behind it, or if it is beside the door (we have the 2015 178). Thanks!

Try this. Disconnect all of the power in the RV. That means unplug it from shore power and disconnect the battery. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes.Reconnect the battery, plug it back into shore power, and reset the thermostat (following the process called out in the manual). It should now work. Basically you are resetting.

It's been sitting unplugged with the battery unhooked for the past year, so a reset shouldn't help. But I'll plug it back in and try to find where in which manual tells me how to reset the thermostat!
Thanks
