I did an internet search - no joy

Our cam lock 'cam' is loose. I am afraid that it will slip down and lock the door closed. I have tried to tighten it by screwing in the phillips screw that holds everything together, but its already as tight as can be. I assume I need a new washer that fits beneath it.

Is this right??

Those things are somewhat adjustable by just slightly bending the tab. We replaced our cam lock on the pass through with one that was keyed the same as the main door. We got one that was "close" to the right spacing, and I adjusted it to be snug just by bending the tab a little bit.

Is it the whole unit that wiggles?  If so, you need to tighten the nut on the inside of the door. If you open the door and look at the lock unit, you will see it threaded outside. There is a thin nut that should be touching the door. It's about a 3/4 jam nut, It is tightened until the lock assembly no longer moves, then give it another turn or so.

The only other thing I can think of from your post is that the "latch" is loose? It should not be able to spin because it should be mounted on a square drive post. Then a star washer is put on the screw, and the screw is tightened. Thats all I got
