On our last dry camping trip to Anza Borrego St. Pk. we experienced low and intermittent water pressure, especially in the hot water line. Lots of what appeared to be trapped air. Naturally when we got home and tested our faucets they worked fine after a bit of spitting and spraying. So is this caused by an air lock in the water heater tank or something else?

Just air still in the tank from when you last drained it probably. Normal, run it awhile and it goes away.

If you clear your water lines, there will be a fair amount of air in the system, and especially the hot water because of the water heater. That's 6 gallons of air in there.

Thanks folks, kinda what I thought. Next time we dry camp I think I will hook up to city water before we leave and run the faucets till no air comes out.
