I thought I would share this because my wife was set up at our campsite and encountered this issue. The propane detector started going off and repeatedly sounded after being reset. She turned off the propane at the tank and the detector was still going off. I asked her to check the voltage meter I had installed and it read 13.6V, so I knew it wasn't a low voltage issue. She finally opened the windows and door and eventually the detector settled down.

She had bought some floor cleaner and had mopped the floor with it before all this started happening. She finally thought to read the label and determined that the cleaner has petroleum distillates in it, which the propane detector was picking up as a propane leak.

The moral of the story is to be careful about choosing cleaning products and read the labels.

Vinagar and Water will do the job for most clean up jobs. 100s of uses around the home, boat and trailer. Safe and it tastes  good too.

Had a similar issue with the detector going off in our 180. There is a nice square nook next to the slide out that is next to and above the detector that my wife likes slip her box wine into. Seems she somehow forgot to close the wine spigot fully and spilled some on the floor. Which as you can guess set the detector off, talk about killing a buzz! LOL

Years ago We ruined a propane detector in our Class C by using an ammonia based cleaner on the vinyl floor. Could not get it to reset and had to unplug it for the remainder of the trip. Lesson learned, soap and water only on the floor.

Wow... Good Info. I would have never thought that may be a problem.
