Its hotter than its been so I did turn the bathroom fan on high for the first time and in hindsight suspect that that's what cause the problem because its the only thing new.

The power kicked off so I checked the GFCI and the house breaker panel; both fine. I checked the pod breakers, also fine. I plugged a small appliance into the garage outlet and the it worked.  I then plugged the R-pod into another house outlet (no GFCI this time).  Worked for a while then kicked off also. This outlet is also still working with other devices.

I can't figure out the problem.  Any thoughts?  I was going to have an electrician give me an estimate on  setting up 30 amp service and I have to do that sooner rather than later if I can't figure this out.

You are saying that the outlet is working okay for other items. Are you perchance running the water heater? You might want to check the switch for that and turn it off if it is on. Look behind the burner tube behind the outside water heater panel. There is a very small switch there located toward the bottom left as you are facing the water heater burner. What else is turned on at the same time? Is everything else running okay?

The bathroom fan is 12V so it might not affect the 120V circuit. Check your power panel for condition of the fuses there. It might also be that you have a wire that is a little loose and making intermittent contact. Make sure (with 110V disconnected please) that all the wire connections are tight. Make sure you don't see any lights that would indicate a blown 12V fuse. If you find one, replace it with the proper specified one indicated on the label. Last, there could be a problem with the fan switch. Is yours the Fantastic Fan with the rotary switch or the MaxxAir with the pushbutton switch? Does it run okay when it is on low or medium and only cut out when it is on high? I think that would indicate a switch problem.

If only the 12 volt accessories quit I would suspect the onboard battery charger isn't working or the 12 volt battery is bad.

If only the 120 volt accessories quit I would suspect a bad 30 amp extension cord or loose connection at the 30 to 15 amp adapter to the house receptacle or loose connection of the extension cord to the trailer.

If both 12 volt and 120 volt items quit then both of the above could be the problem.

Any luck pinning this down?  I've had two electrical issues, one 120v and the other low voltage, in the past 24 hours due to iffy connection.  It's amazing the gremlins that show up for dirty or loose connections. Wiggle plugs in; put them in and pull them out a few times.  Clean them with a wire brush (using appropriate caution).

That's the simple, dumb thing to do.  Otherwise, I can't think of anything that would cause the juice to come back on after it went off.  Circuit breakers have to be manually reset -- they don't just turn themselves back on.

As others have noted, the bathroom fan is 12v.  It wouldn't cause the 120VAC to cut off.

Let us know how this resolves -- or give us some clues to keep working on it.

Bottom line, never let your electric water heater element remain in the ON position.  Only energize that element when you are absolutely sure you have water in your water heater tank.  The little toggle switch hidden under the gas tubing has a hole in it to allow the insertion of a pin to keep it in the off position, but getting at that switch to just turn it off and on is a pain, and using a protective pin is even more inconvenient.  

Some advocate using the breaker as your main switch, leaving the toggle switch in the on position.  I personally disagree, not because the breaker can't operate as a switch (it is rated as a switch), but because it's easy to accidentally turn it on, especially if there others who may have access to the WFCO breaker panel and don't know it's significance.  I installed a separate switch next to the water heater that ensures I'll never accidentally turn on my water heater electric element unintentionally again.  It was an easy 15 minute project.  ..... and a lot less expensive and time consuming than replacing the burned up heating element.
