My booster in the little cubby above the bed on my 2013 HR177 stopped working. At least the red indicator light doesn't turn on, and the TV doesn't work on local signals like it did. Searching for a quick and easy fix for someone who is not an electrician. That would be me. I presume I just need to order and install a new booster? I can't even see how the heck you would do that to replace it, how you remove the cubby from the ceiling, the way it is installed and hanging there above the bed doesn't show any easy access or ease of removal. Thanks in advance for your help.

Cody,
Are you talking about an outlet looking device that has a switch for the amp? And you can't get the LED for the amp to light?

I think that's what you mean. It's up above the bed in a hang down little cubby, a real head knocker if you ain't careful, and inside there is a little button you push to turn on the amp for the antenna. Tv. It would drain your battery if you forgot to turn it off. It turned on with a little red led light showing. Now nothing. And the TV won't work. Thanks

Have you perhaps blown a fuse? Check your fuse panel to see. If the fuses are still good, then you would need to take a multimeter and see if power is getting to the switch after removing the booster from the wall.

Thanks StephenH, I'll do that fuse check. I can accomplish that part. If that doesn't work Then I'll have to find someone who understands how to work a multimeter for that other part if I need to, and someone who even owns one. I have no clue on what that is. I love this web site and the people who help here. Thanks so much. SR

If you have a Harbor Freight nearby, they usually have an advertisement where you can get a small one for free with purchase. This Sunday's Parade insert has a Super Coupon for one. It is handy to have one.

I have had to replace one of those modules. The switch would not stay engaged, I got it to work with a toothpick as it worked as long as red button was depressed. Finally found a direct replacement for module on eBay and it has worked ever since. I still have the old one, haven't tried a repair to it, project for a slow day. I did verify the switch was the issue. See if it works if you hold the red button in.
