Has anybody gotten this hitch setup for a RPod? I have a 182G and looking at it for an addition.

Apparently not riotkayak, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't do the job, other than one of the reviewers said they couldn't lower the ball enough for their trailer without the shank getting too close to the ground, so that might be a problem if you have a low riding rpod.

If you try it please post on how it works out for you. Good luck!

Can you back up with the bars hooked up? If not, I would pick one that you can.

From the Husky site:

Performs in reverse (no sway bar to remove for backing up)

It is very similar in design to the E2 trunnion-style WDH, so I don't see any major issues with it. What's the price difference between it and the E2 equivalent?

I like the fact that it comes with the ball and it is pre-torqued to specs.

Was interested in this hitch but there were very few reviews, but the ones I did find were good. We ended up staying with a Equalizer 4 point sway control WDH. We needed a larger hitch and the Husky looked interesting. If you do get it I would be curious to know your review of it. What l liked about the Equalizer hitch it was made in the USA and the Husky I think the manufacture told me the steel came from the US but was manufactured in Taiwan.

I'd be a little cautious about of the claim of the manufacturer.  It doesn't make sense.

Why would someone ship steel to Taiwan to manufacture the hitch, then ship the hitch to the US, when Taiwan is perfectly capable of making the steel locally.  It is not cost effective and the steel in a WDH is not some strange exotic alloy that is only obtainable in one place.  And if they were going to source steel out of Taiwan, Japan has a steel industry that can satisfy the needs of just about every kind of demand for steel imaginable and is a whole lot closer.  I wouldn't be surprised to find out the manufacturing of the steel was also in Taiwan.  Just wondering????

That is pure salesman talk. There is no reason for them to source the steel from the US if they are making the product over there. The steel over there is cheaper, and more readily available. More variety of steel product too. The US steel industry is a shadow of its former self.

We have this hitch on our 2019 190.  First rpod and trailer for us, we had it installed by the dealer when we purchased the pod.  Overall has worked well, have towed with and without it and can tell a difference.  I did adjust it after driving a bit, think we were carrying more weight typically then when it was initially installed. You can back up with the bars in place.  Trailer and tow vehicle have to be very straight to remove the bars if you are unhitching.  Overall we have been happy with it.

After much research and comtemplation, I purchased the Andersen WDH system. Should arrive this coming week. I will update after installation.
