Any tips are very welcome. I know that DOING it will be the ticket. But anything to look out for?
Like the way to turn the steering wheel when backing in. I know, this may seem logical to most of you, but never having done it, I could you some common sense advice.
Even as I approach my 7th decade, I am determined to be able to do this. My bones were having trouble sleeping on the ground in my tent. So figured it was time to find something more suitable, Love the little Pod.

I know there will be more, but here is tip one and two (that work for me). One: I have clip on mirrors the really help when Podterfly is backing and turning, (helps see around the corner a little). Two: Put your hands on the bottom of the steering wheel, the way you turn the Bottom of the steering wheel is the way the R-pod will turn. Lee
 P.S. Don't switch from looking in the mirrors- to- turning around looking back while backing changes a lot is changes perspective and for me it seems harder. Better to get out and check. |

picked up my new tow vehicle today. The side mirrors have a little mirror in the upper outer corners. Is this the same as clip on's.

When you are backing up go real slow. You may have to pull forward again to straighten it but that is okay. Don't be shy about asking a camper to help you. They are usually a good group of people. Thank you for the tips, keep them coming.
The information on the toaster oven was very welcome. Taking off for short trip to Atlanta to put mileage on tow vehicle so we can pick the Pod up. Then the fun begins

As for backing up, mainly it is all about practice. Go to a parking lot and just practice. Whatever your preferred approach is, it will come to you quicker than you think but don't wait till you HAVE to back up to learn. ------------- vandallc 2011 177 2003 Lincoln Navigator |
