The first day when I picked up my barely used 2016 RP 178, I was pulling out of the parking lot at the bank and heard that terrible sound! The leveling jacks scraped deep into the asphalt. I got home and checked it out, found that both jacks had been replaced. I saw a couple of the original screws snapped off in their holes. The pod only had 3 trips on it!

So I removed both rear jacks, had my muffler guy weld a u shaped bracket the same size as the frame. Also had 2 12” strips of steel welded to the frame, I didn’t like the multiple holes left by the self tapping screws. Then I drilled a hole all the way thru the bracket and frame and installed a clip pin like you have on a hitch. This way the jack can’t slide out on uneven terrain. Gained 5” of clearance.

On our second trip out, we had a steep site to back into at Diamond lake. Really meant for tent camping.

The only thing that scraped was the spare. Since My tow vehicle is a pick up with a shell, I just carry the spare in the back of the truck now. If I had an SUV tow vehicle, would opt for the hitch mount spare carrier, and counter the weight by adding more stuff to the rear storage.

Check the level of your Pod, front to back. You can raise the back by lowering your hitch an inch or two or more, if that won't make you too low on the front.

We have a steep driveway. Before we raised our 179, we added the SaveAJack on the back of the pod. Easy in and out after that.

I added the FR 3 5/8 riser blocks. No more dragging my “stabilizer jacks”.

My 2015 178 had the risers, I added save -a-jacks.
