Has anybody installed a slide awning on there Rpod? I was trying to stay away from the high priced one you can order from Camping World, was thinking of fabricating one from tarp material.  Any ideas?

I installed a Lippert from etrailer.com. For a 178 cost was under 200. Before that I used the one from PahaQue that is installed in keder rail. I like the permanent retractable one much better.

I duct-,taped a $8 tarp to 1/2 inch braided nylon line and slide that into the rail. It's supported by off poles on the ends. An acceptable and cheap awning for boondocking. Has all the class of a FEMA roof for $50.

I have not made mine yet but I found slides at a sail shop that fit the track. They are a loose enough fit that I could sew them into a poly tarp, or just tie them on at the grommet.

Cost me something like 1.49$ ea plus shipping, so I got 10.

I have the R-dome also, but wanted something very quick and easy to put up after a day of driving.

Then a day or 2 later when I have recharged my battery's I can swap it for the R-dome if desired. Or take it down and drive some more.

You can also find the rope kind that sews on. Google is your friend. Search for keder slide.

I installed the Solera on our 190.  I laid out all the parts on the driveway arranged like they go on the Pod.  That helped ensure I had all the parts and made the install easier.  Go for it, it's not to difficult.
