To my dismay, the Jensen TV in the 179 is not a 12 volt. And there is no receptacle behind it for an inverter so that it can be used when camping without shore power. So, as some others have done, I installed a receptacle for an inverter just above and behind the TV. It is necessary to remove the radio/DVD player to get a 12 volt wire and ground. Problem is, the screws used to mount the radio are sunk into the bezel of the radio and require that each screw be backed out a bit at a time from one to the other, since the heads will not back out of the bezel. But once you have the radio out, wires are actually marked! Find the 12 volt (says 12 volt switched) and the ground, tap into these and then to the back of the receptacle, making sure to get the hot to the positive center of the receptacle. I used a 1 1/2 inch hole saw to mount the receptacle, taking care to measure back far enough so that the final installation does not hit the side of the radio being reinstalled. A couple of spade type connectors on 12 ga. wire were tapped into the hot and ground, then attached to the receptacle. The center plug of receptacle has a couple of little tabs on the rear of it that prevent it from sitting flat to the wall. Just shave these off with a box cutter. Here are the components I used. The Positaps really are worth it and make it very easy in the confined space.

Why not just permanently wire in an inverter, putting it in the dead space behind the radio, and install a wall outlet.

That could be done, but it would be more work, and the inverter has an on/off switch with instructions to turn off when not in use. Too, there's no ventilation in there for a warm inverter. I just thought this was the easiest approach and provides a 12 volt outlet for other purposes, like a fan.
