Has anyone found a way to change the steps or add some kind of steps/ramp to make it easier for people with disabilities?

Several owners have changed to a double step. Some cutting, shimming, and drilling may be required..

With an HRE, either the Lippert or Stromberg-Carlson double step would likely work. We put the latter on our non-HRE 179 first and the lower step was too low to be useful. The former's lower step is at a much better height.

After 7 years of owning our 177 I finally installed the 4" lift kit to get the pod higher off the ground.  The result was that the single step was no longer useful or safe so we went with the Stromberg-Carlson double step.  Cost was $ 95.81 and took me about 1.5 hours to take old one off and then cut a couple pieces out of the new step as well as drill a couple holes in each side so that it would function properly.  Just measured the rise in inches per step and it came out to step 1 - 7", step 2 - 7", and step 3 - 8".

Thanks! I'll pass that info on to the new owners who need some help with that. I hope they join the forum!

I was wondering if anyone has had this issue.  I purchased and installed a set o Flexco steps.  With 2 steps and the 8 inch drop they were perfect.  That is until the sides of the bottom step began sliding behind the protruding tab on the frame that is supposed to hold the bottom step horizontal.  Now the bottom step sits at a 45 degree angle and is useless.  It's as if the frame has bent.  Etrailer has offered to replace them under warranty if I send them back.  That's fine except I drilled holes to make them fit.
Any thoughts on how to make these better?  I have thought of drilling a hole on each side of the frame and using a double nut on each side to draw the side together so the protruding tab functions as intended.  Thanks for your help.

I have FLEXCO steps. When I mounted them I elongated holes in the steps not the frame. Not sure that may be difference. Are they in fact bent? If they are I guess anything is possible. Have you removed them and inspected. I have had no issues with my steps, lot of them out there.

one thing to watch is on the newer HRE that comes with the double step.  One nut came off and the other one loosened itself even with a lock washer.  I used blue lock tight on the bolts and hopefully it will hold the nuts on.
