I was on another forum and came across this bit of information.  I thought it might be beneficial for those of you who have the rdome and might use it.  This was written by someone who had WD-40 analyzed and his results.

Anyway, the results of WD-40 came back to me quickly, as they had analyzed this
product many times previously. It was a very light weight oil, like an SAE 2 or
so with a gas propellant in the aerosol can. So, be advised NOT to put WD-40 on
anything you would not put oil on such as rubber products as it will deteriorate
the rubber.

I have found the best thing to use on the r-dome track is Silicone Spray, it leaves the track very slippery and does not damage or stain the r-dome or r-pod.

WD-40 isn't really meant to be a lubricant anyway.  It's job is Water Displacement.

We use silicone spray ONLY and rarely use WD-40.  We were advised many years ago not to use WD-40 on our bike chains, and to use silicone spray.  Some of us had to learn the hard wayLOL

we use a spray silicone and it works very easily, i also have a drywall platform that was on sale at loew's for 19.99 that i stand on to slide in out the track. it is 20 inches deepx 20 high and 40 long and makes a great cooler stand after the dome is up.
