The twist ring that tightens the power cord to the outside outlet (on 171) broke off.  Need it? If so, where to get it?  thanks

Ours broke also-probably I tightened it too much. I was able to use  Super glue and repair ir. So far it is still working.

Yeah, me, too, about the tightening; but they are a bit flimsy.  Thanks for the idea which will at least make it weather resistant.

Look for "30 amp ring" on Amazon.  They're overpriced in my opinion.  Most things are nowadays though.

These are marine grade and are designed for attaching a floating boat to shore power.  Therefore to prevent them from falling off during a boats rocking when docked they added the screw feature in addition to the slight turn.  Since an RV does not rock like a boat it is not necessary to hold it in place.  It does help keep it dry to prevent shock and shorting out.  Bottom line, can you continue using it.  Sure, just be sure to keep it dry. Use some tape over it when connecting. Or try attaching an outlet cover.  Much cheaper than replacing the  cord.

Hey!! Speak for yourself.. Our RV ROCKS!!! Wink

We changed to the new hot thing in the boat world, the "smart plug" should never ever be any issue again. My wife struggled with the push turn align spin hook up procedure. Now she just pushes until it clicks, walks away.

Order one from Amazon. Use hot water to soften the plastic of the fitting and slide the ring over it. Then put it in position and tighten the ring until the plastic flange cools and sets. I had to do this when I accidentally ran over ours.

Thanks for all the experiences and suggestions.  Decided to buy a new ring.  Also good to know it is a common problem for various and looking-back humor!
