First time posting a question, so hope I'm doing it correctly.  If not, I'm sure I'll find out!  Anyway, due to a gale force easterly wind, nothing less than a Eurus caused wind I'm sure, our R Pod dome tent was nearly ripped off our camper.  The only major damage was to one of the three aluminum telescoping poles used for roof support.  Eurus bent the pole, making it unusable and resulting in us removing the dome for the remainder of the trip. Apparently, per a dealer in Denver, Forest River wants over $100 for a new pole, and I suspect that does not include delivery costs.  Does anyone by a weird chance have one they want to sell or have a replacement suggestion?  Saw one post where the owner replaced a bent part with a dowel, so I might try that.  Don't know if the poles have changed over the years, but we have a 2015 179 R Pod.  In advance, thanks for any suggestions or advice!!

Well, I don't know if this helps, but the dome is made by dometic. Maybe they will give you a better price.

Please describe the damage. $100 for replacement seems awfully steep.

A long dowel would work, I am sure, but I would be surprised if you couldn't replace any irreparably damaged segment with a hacksaw and then inserting a length of thinner diameter dowel or maybe (?) metal or pvc tubing.

Still not cheap at 90$, but its better.

Thanks for the suggestions and the site offering it for $$90.  I'll be pulling out the dome today or tomorrow, as the wind did cause a small tear that needs minor restitching.  I think I'll go down the dowel path before handing over $90.  For someone's future reference, I'll post my outcome.  Again, thanks to each of you!

My anti-malware did not like that site. All it said was that it caused some unwanted outbound traffic.

I know that the larger REI stores sell materials for poles (the fiberglass ones that use elastic inside them to fold up). Maybe you could figure something out...

It's a solid site, many dome owners have been fixed up by them..

I was fortunate enough to purchase a new (to me, and never erected from the looks) r-dome complete with all accessory items including 3 new telescoping poles.  That gives me 6!

If you still need one, I will "pay it forward" to you for the shipping cost.  I don't know what that would be, but I bet it's less than $100.

PM me if you wish.

Had a pretty big wind sent mine over the top as well. Seems I faired better since only slight bending in the roof stays.. Can't retract fully, so I just take them apart.

Now the shock corded arch poles got a couple good bends I can't straighten out. That I may need to replace (definitely somehow repair).

One thing I will do though is add one more pole from the ground to the center of the arched front (and a strap). In those winds (or something lighter) the dome tries to fold downward. That extra pole would help immensely!
