Does anyone have experience with http://www.passportamerica.com/ - Passport America'™ or similar Camping Clubs? Are they worth their membership fees in discounts & services? Thanks👍🏼

I got it a year and a half ago and it turned out to be a complete dud.  Every time I tried to use it, the RV park had blackout periods that eliminated the discount. Make sure before you buy it that the places you plan to go will have the discount available when you will be there.  I don't plan to renew it.

To me, Passport America and similar clubs are equivalent to a time-share condo. I thought about it and realized that our travel style is definitely not suited for the resort destination type of "camping." Instead, we opt for reservations at a campground when we are expecting to stay for longer than overnight. When we are on the road, Walmarts, truck stops, and the occasional campground without reservation is the way we go. Our last trip, we covered almost 6500 miles. Some of that time was spent in the driveways of our daughters' homes. We spent three nights at a campground in West Yellowstone, MT and a couple of nights at a campground in Asheboro, NC. Other than that, it was the overnights at Walmarts or truck stops.

My sister goes every summer to a campground in NY and stays there. Their trailer does not move the whole summer. For her, it works. For me, it would not be fun. We got our R-Pod because we wanted to see more of the US, not just have a summer "home" at a campground.
