Has anyone had problems with their brakes staying on? Drove 17 miles, could feel the brakes, felt like I was dragging the wheels. Noticed 2 wires not connected so my electrician son re-connected the wires near the axle now it is free wheeling again until I apply the brakes, they squeel! Any suggestions?

I would suggest you have brakes inspected or do it yourself if capable. If the brakes locked on or made constant contact with hub, they would generate heat. The heat can cause the shoes to "glaze". The shoe surface is hardening and crystalizing. That shiny, smooth surface could cause the squealing you're now hearing. There can also be some residual material between the shoe and hub. Old timers would clean the hub and sand the shoes, most shops nowadays will just replace the shoes.

I had trouble with my brakes when i first bought my pod. After driving a little while, if i put my brakes on, it seemed like they wouldn't back off. One side, the door side, seemed to be the culprit. I brought it back, and they found nothing wrong, but I found a rivet or something that stuck up a tiny bit, and told them I think that might catck the brake shoe. They agreed and swapped it out for free (warranty) and its been fine

Let us know how that works out. The drums are probably ok, the shoes will be glazed.
