Greetings

I had a tire that was damaged and they were starting to show some wear.  I purchased a pair of Carlisle Radial Trail HD tires.  Carlisle's have mixed reviews and have factories located all over the world.  The tires were probably made in China like most tires today.  I Haven't checked them for that yet.  The tires are 205/75R14D.  The D indicates a D rating 8 ply.  they have a load rating of 2040 pounds.  The tires that came with the 2015 R-179 were rated C at 1760 pounds.  The RV is rated for around 3700 MAX GVW.  and 2700 dry.  The new tires have a speed rating of 81 MPH.  I am very careful to check tire PSI of both my pickup and the RV every time I leave home.  I think that underinflating is one of the major causes of tire failures.  I will put a couple of thousand miles on them this year yet, so if I have problems, I will post something.  I had them spin balanced when mounted.

Checked tire pressure this evening which was just fine.
Good thing as found one cracked and needs to be replaced.
Spare is unused but thinking of replacing both tires “on the road” and keep the spare.
Currently Ridgeway Sports ST 205 75 R 14    C load 6 ply . Not big on my happy chart.
Any suggestions as I have to get them mounted by 2 on Monday!!
Thanks, rather have a safe camper than a sparkling clean camper.

We got the same tires as crankster last spring and they're doing fine.  It's nice to not be at the edge of the speed range as we were with C range tires.  And, yes, they're made in China.  A friend got some 15" speed range D tires and they are of US origin.

I can't say there is a discernible difference in mileage due to the higher running pressure, but I like to think so.  It's probably wishful thinking, an activity in which I am often engaged.

We run the D-rated Carlisle Trail HDs as well and we've put a lot of miles on them with no issues. We bought them after I blew out both tires on one trip after we had put a little over 5k miles on them.

Fortunately a trusted tire shop that is into RVs as well had 2 of the D rated Carlisles coming in on a delivery today. I’ll have both mounted in about5 minutes! And feel safer hitting the road in almost 100 Degree temp today😝. Thank you ALL. I’ll be driving with a safer rv and will wash it when it cools off a bit 🤡

Greetings:

It's really good to hear from folks who have had actual experience with the tires.  I'm 78 and the idea of being alongside a road with a blown tire would be no fun.  I have AAA coverage for both the truck and the  pod. and used it once for a flat on the truck in SD.  Luckily I was still in the campground when I found the flat.

About 100 miles this evening to Cape MayNJ area
Tires road nice
Tracked tighter than the old 6 ply tires
Actually had to watch curbs on inside of turns a little more
Less bounce
Less noise over rumble strips
I like them already
