Mike and I bought two Honda 2000 to link together for our POD. Where do you store your POD generator?
On my TAB, we had a platform made for the front and the generator is bolted on it.
Please excuse me if I'm asking old questions, we're new Podders!

Welcome and don't feel bad asking questions that may have been asked.  I would love to be able to answer yours but I don't have a generator at this time.  Would they fit on the front frame behind the gas tank and next to the battery? Maybe a custom bracket made. Would also need to look at tongue weight for that change.   There are several here that do carry them so I'm sure they will answer what they do.

The spare tire is removable, which leaves you with a 1 1/4" receiver on the rear.  Then you can buy a hitch cargo platform and mount the gensets to it.  You'll need to balance out that weight by loading cargo near the front of the 'pod and/or mount the tire on the toungue (bolt-on mounting kits are available).  Might be easier to design a custom mount on the tongue for the gensets.

If you mount the generator on the tongue, wont you have vibration / noise from it?

It's only mounted on the tongue for travel, it's put on the ground if one wants to run it.

Agree, something like the Honda 2000s should be moved off and away.  I could see something larger being permanently mounted but then vibration will be an issue.

You've touched on the same things Mike and I are talking about. One thought is to use the receiver on the rear and move the spare tire forward. We have a Yamaha 2800 mounted to the front on my TAB and it's noisy and vibrates so we know the Honda's will have to move to the ground. Only problem is I'm less than 5 feet and weigh in at about 120 pounds. I can get the generators down, but then not up.
Mike is an A & P so I'm thinking he'll come up with something! I suggested the thing they use to carry wheelchairs and move them to the ground.

Could also try a ramp and put the gensets on a dolly.  Might make it easy enough for you to get them up, w/o adding a crane.

I use my mobility lift to lift my 2000 and it works very good. Down side it costs almost as much as a 2000. I cannot use it when i am hooked up to pod ,not enough room to swing the scooter out, have to unhitch first.

Have decided to try Doug's idea of a ramp and dolly. I RV at dog shows and always have a dolly with me for hauling stuff into the show site.  I'll let you know how it goes!
