Has anyone used the https://andersenhitches.com/Products/3620--rapid-jack.aspx - Andersen Rapid Jack for leveling?  I was thinking about getting the http://andersenhitches.com/Products/3604--camper-leveler.aspx - Andersen Camper Leveler , but then I saw the Rapid Jack which has about 7" of lift, compared to the 4" with the Leveler.

I'm concerned with the angle of climb of the tire, which might tend to squirt the leveler out if it's steeper, as with the Rapid Jack.

We'll be doing a lot of dry camping, and I was thinking about the places we've tent camped.  Some of those places don't have a lot of level options, so I was hoping to get a lot of lift, while keeping the ease of the curved leveler.

Thanks!

We have the Leveler, and have never had any issues with it. Fortunately, we've never camped anywhere where we've needed more than 4" of leveling (and I wouldn't go that far with the leveler; I think 3" is more like the absolute limit). The rapid jack would have been my preference if it had existed when we first started looking at these things.

We could have used this in one particular spot that had a significant slope side-to-side. I had to crank the BAL leveler way up. The 7" of the Rapid Jack may have been enough and a lot easier.

That said, we have the 4" leveler and haven't needed more than 4" since we got it. We no longer need to set up in the aforementioned spot.

I agree.  If you're at 4 inches of lift, you also have no "chock" on the high side because the trailer could easily roll over the top.

With the Rapid Jack, I'm figuring we could get up to 6 inches of lift.

That's what I was thinking too.  How much lift can you get with the BAL?  Seems like you have a lot more control when lifting.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping to hear.  I was a little concerned because Andersen recommends against using it for leveling ( http://help.andersenhitches.com/faq/rapid-jack-vs-camper-leveler-for-leveling-trailer - http://help.andersenhitches.com/faq/rapid-jack-vs-camper-leveler-for-leveling-trailer ):

Our Rapid Jack is a very aggressive lift so precise leveling becomes almost impossible ...

I don't need precise leveling.  (DW thinks she does, but I'm betting our 32-year marriage on the fact that she won't detect a 1-inch difference side-to-side  Ermm )

But it's a lot easier to let the TV do the work of lifting the Pod than cranking the BAL by hand. I used a torque wrench because the wimpy wrench that came with the BAL couldn't handle it. When I tried using an impact wrench, I stripped the BAL's screw.

Use the levelers on the rpod and larger TT.  Broke one the first use, replaced by Anderson with only an email and a couple of photographs, no questions asked.

I heard they had great customer service.  And they're from Idaho to boot, where I grew up!
