just bought a 176 t. towed it from ohio to new mexico. sold a 27' airstream. to early to tell yet ,but seems like an improvement. |

hi just seemed to lack any kind of quality control ,on the finish. thought i was buying the best. turned into a very expensive mistake. the older one's seemed fine. mine was a 2008. think if you get one with all the bugs out ,from the 80's/90's you might be ok. great history,good design,nice dealer + no quality in finish.

| Only used our 176t 3 weekends so far and had a great time, BUT, during the 18 hr. driving rain storm found the tent to get a little wet inside. a few rain drops in the face woke me up. I suppose anormal rain might not pose this problem, but I did make a tarp to hang from the lid for added protection. Also found the lid to have lowered itself and was rubbing on the tent and probably wore off some rain protection, so I made some supports that fit over the lid supports to prevent it from dropping down. |

| Sorry no pics, but here's what I did. Got a piece 1/2 in. cpvc rigid water supply line (Menards) and cut it to the length of the fully extended lid support shaft. Cut a lengthwise groove just wide enough to fit over the shaft and slip it on. The weight of the lid will hold it in place. In bad rain I also have a plastic tarp I hook to the inside of the lid locks that hangs over the back of the tent that I anchor to the stabilizers with bungees. So far so good. Phil |
