Any good ideas for what to use in the shower to keep the floor clean and feet dry when using the other fixture? Suggestions needed. Am just starting to outfit my new 171. Would love to share pics but have no idea how to upload them to this site. Thanks!

What about a raised mat, like this?  http://www.organizeit.com/pobanumat.asp - http://www.organizeit.com/pobanumat.asp
Or: http://www.lnt.com/show_product/688787/?utm_source=googleaffiliate&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_term=688787 - http://www.lnt.com/show_product/688787/?utm_source=googleaffiliate&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_term=688787
If you left it in the shower all the time it would be quickly dried with one swipe of a towel (I keep a shammy in the 'pod for this very reason), or you could take it out while you shower so it stays dry.

I just may get one!  Have to check on dimensions first.

Nice! Wonder why so many places do not put dimensions up. It is a great idea, anyway. I think I have some teak stashed in my shop and could make something like this one. Thanks so much for the idea and link.

Sorry about the blank post. I am doing something wrong or accidentally hitting a key that I should not be hitting. Wish I knew what was happening!

We use Dri-Deck in the head on our boat. Comes in 12" squares that snap together or can be easily cut to odd shapes.

Go to West Marine online, or Defender online,  and you'll find it there. Here's a link to the company's website:

I bought one of these  http://www.walmart.com/ip/Grass-Tub-Mat-Bone/10251032 - http://www.walmart.com/ip/Grass-Tub-Mat-Bone/10251032 and cut it to fit.  We use it for stepping on with shoes and remove it when taking a shower.  It helps to keep the floor clean when I'm ready to take a shower.

Edit: fixed link - techntrek

I just use a small bath mat that I bought at Zellers.  We remove it when taking a shower.

BTW: No shoes allowed inside our pod

Spent several years in Korea, pickuped the habit. No shoes in Podterfly or house.    Now if I can just get the dogs to wipe their PAWS.  LOL

How many 12 x 12 squares does it take to cover the bathroom floor? We don't have our pod yet so I can't measure.

Thanks,
-- Steve

I tried to use a teak mat in my R-Pod, but found that it tended to slide around on the smooth plastic
floor of the shower pan.  Enough, in fact, that I was worried about it flying out from under my feet.
It was pretty, though.
If you decide on using a wooden mat...try to find some rubber water-proof 'nubs' to install on the
bottom of the wooden lathes to keep the mat from sliding.

I ended up using a vinyl-rubber shower mat from Wal-Mart that has small suction cups on its bottom.
The mat has an open weave so that water can readily drain through and the suction cups keep the mat slightly raised so water drains away easily. It also has an anti-bacterial coating.  Because it was vinyl, it was easy to cut to fit.  The suction cups do not stick down too tightly, so it is also easy to remove to clean the pan.

I bought four squares of dri dek, put them together and trimmed them to fit with scissors, rounded corners, too.

Does anyone know if any retailer like Home Depot, Walmart or Lowe's carry Dri-Dek or equivalent?

No, they don't, and they look at you like you have holes in your head when you ask for it! Got mine from mrgrabbar.com and the service was super fast. Of course they are in FL and so am I, but they shipped immediately. Trim it so it is a nice tight fit, otherwise it will slip when you step on it.

Were you able to cut the dri-deck tiles to fit your rpod? I'd like to purchase some but our shower pan is not square.
