we got our 179 today, went through inspection and instruction session.  The pod is clean and everything works, we have lots to learn.
One thing I identified during the inspection is the tank dumps appear to be backward, the grey water has the large full size drain pipe but the black water has a pipe that is about half the diameter.  Have not measured yet but the grey is about 4” diameter and the black about 2”.  That is reversed from what I experienced with our motor homes.
Anyone else have this situation?  Is it normal?  My dealer was not sure but agreed it seems backwards.

That's interesting. Does the gray 4 inch go to the black tank. I know stupid question.

The grey water tank is at the back and the black water towards the front.  Mine have decals above them and having dumped them for 3 years know where they are.

Thanks Crankster, but what does that have to do with the OP?

I think if your large pipe, believe 3" does not go to black tank, you have a issue, the smaller drain should in fact go to the gray tank. My 178 is the same as Cranster says, theblack tank is foraward, gray tank is more rear, my freshwater tank is at the aft.

Unless FR has made some major changes in the 179, the tank closest to the hitch (translucent white) is the fresh water tank. Behind that, in front of the axle and underneath the wet bath is the black tank. Behind the axle is the gray tank. It would make no sense whatsoever to have the black tank in the back. How would the toilet flush into it?

We have the 2016 RP179.

Thank you, crawled under last night to get a better look.  Water tank is closest to hitch, then black under bathroom and grey at the rear near the kitchen.  The labels on the side are placed wrong.
Now the fun begins.

Our pull handle to open the drain valve on the gray tank is gray and the black tank is black.
Thanks

It's strange that they went with a smaller diameter drain for the gray tank. On our 2016 179, both drains are 4".

I have a 3" black water drain, and a smaller 2" or less gray drain. I think biggest drain is 3", cover is close to 4".

Is there that much variability? You made me go out and measure ours. Our gray water drain is 2" OD; probably 1-1/2" ID. The black water tank is 3-1/2" OD; probably 3" ID. The cover plates are 4" on both.

on our 2016 RP179, the outlets are the same size but the gray pipe is smaller.
