Thew converter in my RPod 179 is kaput.  No charging when on shore power.  No fan running.  I photographed the barcode and called Camping World.  They did not know what I was talking about.  Wanted me to bring the trailer in.  I just want to buy the part.  Tried to get the part through Forest River.  They wish me to pay $5 to talk to a Forest River Technician.  Why is this so hard?  How do I get my part?

Is it under warranty? These converters are readily available, and are common. You can buy one and contact WFCO about repair. Then you will have a spare.

If I was changing on my dime, I would buy the much better, http://www.progressivedyn.com/rv/power-converters/inteli-power-4600-series/ - progressive dynamics replacement .

I just changed our converter about a month ago using the WFCO replacement.  The old one lasted 9 years.  I got it on Amazon and it came in 2 days.  It took about 20 minutes to change.  It comes with a 2 year guarantee.  So far it's working fine.

But, after changing my converter, I saw a number of posts saying that some have had issues with this brand and recommend other makes.  If I ever have to replace it again, I'll certainly check out the ones such as recommended by Furpod.

I had one go bad. I ordered a replacement on Amazon. Then I went on the WFCO site and got the information on how to send it in and it was replaced under warranty. I now have a spare in the box in case it were to happen again. I don't think it is the brand as such. I think they got a bad batch of some components which made for problems. It is likely that newer ones will not have the same failure issues.
This link is http://wfcoelectronics.com/warranty-returns/ - WFCO's Warranty Returns page. You will find a testing checklist as well as instructions on how to request an RGA number on the Warranty Information Fax Sheet.
