We've just switched from our first travel trailer, an MPG, to an rPod 179. From the outside an MPG looks a lot like an rPod. In fact, when it was first manufactured it looked so similar that Forst River sued Heartland for copy catting and won, so MPGs aren't made anymore. We got tired of switching the dinette to our bed and back again every day, so now we have a fixed bed, more kitchen space and a closet. Like most compromises, we had to give up something in the bargain, and that is storage space inside and out. From 3 large outside bins to 1, a smaller fridge, pantry and kitchen drawer space. Lift off for our first trip in the new Pod is May 10, so it's going to be a scramble to get some key mods made and to figure out how to use the different storage space as needed. No doubt we'll come home with a list as long as the one we're working on now.
Home is Marietta, GA.

Welcome and congratulations! We bought our RP179 in December, 2015 and about a week later set out on a cross-country trip to visit our daughters and grandchildren. That was a learning experience! Since then, I have made a number of mods (see link in signature), been in an accident that required the 'Pod to go to the factory for repair, and subsequently made even more mods.
One suggestion for packing: Go to a craft store and buy some wooden crates and other assorted plastic and/or cloth and wire baskets. Pack things in them. It makes it easier to load things into the pantry and to slide the crates into the kitchen storage. It also keeps things confined when you are bouncing down the road. Ultimately, you will figure out what works best for you. I offer this idea as a starting point.

Greetings!
I went with a 189, but it won't be here till june. This is all brand new to me and my wife. Who just left for her last week at work.
Exciting stuff! I think creative packing is only going to be a part of it. I know I am intending to build the "shelf over the bed" plus another at the other end where the roof has a similar curve. Over the sofa.
Will be storage for light weight things. At least that is the intention. The build I saw that I liked simply used 2 shower rods, a section of steel shelving with the lip, and zip ties. But I ordered a couple of extra shower rods so I can make mine deeper if I want.
Wife found a closet organizer that hangs. Has 8 compartments open on the front suspended vertically. Each about the size of a small shoebox. I can see socks, underwear, t-shirts, etc neatly stacked in there.
