Has anyone considered or attempted upgrading their R-Pod flooring? I was thinking about putting in some Pergo flooring in the rpod to spruce it up a bit. I've always hated the linoleum tile pattern that was on the floor but hadn't really thought much about it until I had to do some work to reinforce the frame beneath the floor to address some minor sagging just aft of the dinette. The floor is perfect now but I'm really interested in the floors. I have a few boxes left over from another project and at first glance, it seems to fit in nicely with a few cuts and modifications - mostly, getting rid of the thin strips of molding around the base of the floor. I laid the flooring around the slide, doors, vents, etc and there is ample clearance. I'm just wondering if I should have any concerns around this. I've searched the forum and found only a few references to folks changing their floors and figured I'd ask before getting too invested in the project.

My first thought, weight, it will add a few pounds. Then moisture, pergo doesnt like wet.

Consider interlocking plank vinyl instead since it is not so sensitive to moisture.

That's a good idea. I use pergo in an outdoor shop and it has stayed flat despite a few spills here and there but then people rarely walk in and out with wet shoes/feet. I was thinking about moisture getting trapped underneath.

I have used vinyl plank (waterproof) from Lumber Liquidators for my 2010 171. The installation was very straight forward and looks great. It did add about 75 pounds over the sheet vinyl. The plank was the finishing touch of floor repair after water intrusion. The vinyl plank offers additional stiffness to the floor.
