i recently purchased a Rpod model 179 and just noticed the air conditioning filters are gone out of the unit. Has anyone ever replaced theirs. Where can i order them. I looked on Amazon and could not find them. I guess I had the wrong search terms. They probably would have cost a whole lot more if ordered direct from Dometic.

So that's what these mysterious things are that I found in one of my Pod drawers after we purchased it! They were stuffed in a folder with a bunch of paperwork and I kept trying to remember to figure where they go. Wonder if they should have been installed in the AC unit but never were.... They just slide in the slots in the forward end of the unit. If the wires are not in the way, they go in quite easily.

Good Morning....As I first said, I bought my179 from a private seller. It was less than a year old and I would have thought everything would be on place. I don’t know, but I would bet that the filters where never installed by the dealer or owner in the first place. Dometic, in Goshen IN, could not find the filters, or the correct a/c unit. Look for two curved slots on the end of the inside shroud. One filter slides in each slot so that the curved end of the filter matches the curve of the slot.

Unfortunately, both ends are curved.

That's why I specified "two curved slots."  On mine, they are on the end toward the front end of the R-Pod.

So...we realize we have been running our AC in our Pod without those filters installed!

| It is not hard to remove the inside cover, but there are more screws then you think.... Some are hard to find. I just wash my filters now after every trip and it seems fine. |

+1. There are two screws each at front and back, two screws where the side vents are and two more that are hard to find on the sides. You will need to look carefully to find them all. I took mine off to put closed-cell foam on the inside to quiet it down a little. It is still loud, but not quite as loud, especially if I shut the big vent in the middle.

They should be somewhere in your R-Pod unless your dealer removed them while doing the dealer prep. They may be squirreled away in a non-obvious place. If you did not get them, contact your dealer.

+1 to Stephen. Mine were in a drawer sealed up nice and tight in a plastic bag. Didn't know what there were for a year till I saw a post on here. Not sure why they're not installed at the factory (Dometic or Forest River) or dealer.
