Recently we returned from an almost two week outing to the coast and as always before we leave I have the Pod connected to my 110VAC shower power at our house to run the refrigerator ( I think its the RM8501 model) on electric a day before we leave to cool it down. I turned on the frig and hit electric symbol, it lit up and everything worked fine. When we took off I switched over from electric to propane and its symbol lite up and it ran fine. My trouble came when we reached our first campsite and I switched it from propane to electric. The frig showed that it was on but the electric symbol never lite up showing it was on shore power and it continued on this way for the rest of the trip. My question is has anyone else ever had the indicator led light go bad? Luckily, I believe the frig is under warranty so I should be able to get a replacement indication panel.

Haven't had that problem but did you check to see if the breaker popped to the re-set or off position?  Is it still cooling or did you switch it back to propane?

I think the fridge control panel works on 12v all the time no matter power source is chosen.  I'd suggest cycling through the choices and/or turning the fridge completely off for a minute (reboot it). Did the fridge continue to cool?

To answer both jato and Tars Tarkas, yes the frig continued to cool and work fine for us. I checked circuit breakers and fuses and then shut down, rebooting as you suggested Tars and cycled through the choices and still no indication light on the electric plug symbol. My thought is a bad solder joint at the LED but instead of me getting out the ohm meter and soldering iron I took it in for warranty repair. Hopefully I'll get the old control or indicator board back to mess around with.

Update on my Dometic Frig problem. Went by the RV repair shop today and they had the board pulled out and asked me if by chance did I or the wife spill something sticky from the microwave/convection oven to the top of the refrigerator? Told him no way, even double checked with the wife and she said nope! Sure enough there was some sticky substance on the circuit board that may have caused this electric indicator light to short out. What it could be is beyond all our wild guesses but I asked if I could have the old board because I was hoping to be able to repair it. Unfortunately they have to send in the board to FR to receive a new board under the warranty repair.

That's an interesting idea for a failure. Anything is possible, but looking at my fridge and micro, it would be hard to dump something into the fridge and not know it.

I thought I'd update those interested on my Dometic refrigerator which has a bad control panel. The bad news is the dealer cost for this circuit board is $350 and it retails for around $470!!! The good news is after submitting photos FR said they would cover it under warranty but that it will take at least a week since the circuit board is manufactured in the UK.

Happy Warranty. Dometic has a plant in Greenbrier TN, they tell me they produce fridges. Wouldn't you think they have a control board.

Yes, happy warranty! From what my RV repair shop said that Forest River told them that the control board is made in the UK and it will be a week before it arrives here. Globalism at work! Ermm
