Do you travel with a generator, like the Honda EU2000i?  If so, do you make use of it in the rain?  How do you protect it?

Ive not crossed that bridge yet. My thought is to have them in the bed of the truck, under the tonneau cover, to stay dry, and able to exhaust.

I have a Generac iX2000. Like the Honda EU2000I, it is encased in a plastic shell. I would have no problems running it in the rain. I would use some sort of cover while refueling to keep water out of the gas tank. Otherwise, no problem. While traveling, mine rides on the Stromberg-Carlson Trailer Tray covered with an inverted plastic bin which is bungee corded over the top to keep it in place. The generator itself is strapped down and locked to the tray. I have traveled many hundreds of miles with it so covered. I remove the cover to run it as needed. So far, I have left it on the tray, but could take it off to run.

Stephen, I'm trying to get a mental picture of what you mean by a tray. Do you have a pic?

I have that generator and it's companion I use to run the AC. I have used a big golf umbrella to put over them in the rain.

Yes, there are pictures. See my mods. I don't recall which page it is on, but pictures are in there.

I leave our Honda EU2000i and EU2000i Companion out in the rain. The external tank has a negative pressure valve on it, so it can be out in the rain too.

SH,

I GOOGLED "Stromberg Carlson Trailer Tray", got dealers, prices and pics.   Just making sure GOOGLE still works, I have one and use it for more than genset carry. I got the idea from your mod.
