I just replaced my single group 31, 105 amp hour, 12 Volt battery with a US Battery US-12XC2. It’s a group GC12 rated at 155 amp hours, 12 volt deep cycle golf cart battery. It weighs 86 pounds and so my wife had to help me lift it into place, the old battery weighted 59 lbs. The footprint of the battery fits inside my Group 31 battery box other than it sticks up about 1 ¼” higher. I had some 1/8” high density foam I used to make an extension inside the battery box to fill in the space. I picked up the battery locally for $195. I had considered using two 6 volt GC2 from Costco, but then I would also have to get a new battery box. ------------- JandL 2013 Honda Ridgeline 2012 177 2 Paynes in a Pod |

Wow I had no idea there were 12v golf cart batteries, just bought 2 6v gc. Had i known i would have gone this route. The other 12 volt Golf Cart deep cycle battery's I looked at. Only the US Battery was available locally.

Yamaha came out with the 48 volt system in their carts a number of years ago. However, do you not get more amp hours with the two 6 volt batteries tied together over the single 12 volt?
