I know the 190's are new, but does anyone have photos of where a hardwired surge protector should be located? I have an EMS-HW30C arriving soon and would like to look at options. Thanks Mike L

Do not have pictures but it is usually installed behind the fuse box. On our 180 that is under one of the dinette seats. There is ample space behind the fuse box to install it. You need to splice into the line between the A/C line coming in and the fuse box so close to the fuse box is probably the easiest spot. Just look for the black fuse box somewhere along the bottom of the POD. Most likely it is by the seating area so that you do not have to remove the fuse box just the seat above it.

Thanks for the refresher course. I have been doing some major POD Research for the past two weeks. I do remember seeing this location. I will start pulling things apart over the next few days. Excited to start mods on the new Pod. Many thanks.

I'm sure you know this, but, the EMS must be located between the in coming shore plug inlet, and the fuse box. No power should enter your converter that hasn't been "checked" by the EMS. Also, put your pendant in a convenient place to see, it's really useful. I wired mine so that it almost looks like its part of the thermostat. I can see it from outside, looking into the door, so I know things are good without even going in. Also it's helpful when we are using a lot of power, say in the morning, i might make coffee, toast, and cook on the electric griddle, I know exactly how many amps i'm pulling so I don't pop the circuit. Here's our Surge Guard install on our 190. I located it on the right of the control center and had room to locate the fire extinguisher there. ------------- Chuck & Lyn Izzy, Morkie.
