Topic: Kentucky MiniMIni™ hosts 10th Anniversary RallyPosted By: kymooses
Subject: Kentucky MiniMIni™ hosts 10th Anniversary Rally
Date Posted: 15 Jan 2018 at 11:47am
This year the Kentucky MiniMini™ joins forces with Forest River to host the 10th Anniversary of the R-Pod via this official Anniversary Rally.
This will be the biggest MiniMini™ and there should be no shortage of sites this year.
Dates are 10/10/2018 - 10/14/2018 Just so you can mark that down if you're interested to set aside the time off.
This Rally ends 3 days before the first R-Pod travel trailer ever rolled off the assembly line 10 years ago!
Location: Green River Lake State Park: Campbellsville, Kentucky
Reserve: www.reserveamerica.com MoosePod is hosting from site 84. Book where you like but I would suggest staring at the left side of the campground and working your way towards the right as the spots fill up.
You must let me know you are attending, your site number, days you're attending, and how many people so that I may account for you for planned activities. Reply here or email me at rpod.spotter@gmail.com

Great! we couldn't attend the one this past year. Hopefully, we will be able to attend this year's Rally.

Keep in mind it's not just the MiniMini™ this year. This is the 10th Anniversary of R-Pod Rally. It will be the biggest MiniMini for sure, and if we're lucky the biggest R-Pod Rally ever also!

Details will be announced tomorrow probably around this time so about 24 hours from now. To celebrate the R-Pod's 10th Anniversary Forest River will be attending as will hopefully some other vendors and suppliers. Forest River will provide a catered dinner for us along with some other perks to those attending.
Help us and Forest River make this the biggest R-Pod Rally ever!

I'll do my best for us to be there. Would it be okay for me to send the information to the dealer where we purchased our R-Pod? They may be able to send it on to their customers who purchased R-Pods from them.

Probably not initially, I do owe it to all our existing community members to get some of the first chances at sites. As it progresses that might certainly be a possibility but I'd need to be in touch with anyone they send it out to. I have to track all the members and attendees this year to the letter so that I can plan and set up catering and other things.

Okay. That is why I asked. If it becomes okay, then I would certainly ask them to refer R-Pod owners to this forum and/or the Facebook group for tracking.

That would be fine then so long as they know to make contact me me via one of the community locations or my email.
Again this year is just a "Super" year for it being the 10th Anniversary and all.
Give it a week maybe to let some of our current community Owners get all settled and by all means find us some more Podders to join.
I'll be a bit disappointed if we don't have at least 100 show up. :)

We're in!! By coincidence we were planning on taking the RPOD from NJ to FL in mid October for next winter. So we can take a small detour through Kentucky. Will have to map out a trip and what sights to see. We are in 129, Rich and Cindy. We are spoiled though with sewer hookups. Will have to really ration our water use so as not to fill the tanks for so many nights

Okay Podders, we are hitting records here.
There are only about 33 sites left his morning, we booked about 70 sites from noon yesterday until about 5PM and then during the evening hours we've had about another 7 or so booked that I'm tracking down this morning.
We'll never celebrate the 10th Anniversary of R-Pods again, so this is your chance to join us.
Maybe I'll do the 20th Anniversary in the future if everyone has fun.
Yes. This annual rally usually fills in just a couple hours, this year it did take a couple days, but we have about 4x's as many sites as usual. Contact Travis and get on the wait list, and keep the dates open. IME, there will be about a 10% cancellation rate for any rally, some of them coming the day before the rally starts...

It's not closed, but the park is full.. people may, in fact most probably will, cancel. Some at the very last minute. Keep checking the reservation site for any opening that may pop up.

I know this won't format properly but you'll get a hard copy once you arrive. For now this is our week. ALL WEEK LONG Decorate your Campsite, show your Halloween festiveness and decorate those Pods. Zip up your domes at night and leave the porch light on for tons of giant pumpkins all around camp. A prize will be awarded to the best decorated site. Pod Tours, Sign up when you pick up your nametags with your Pod model and any intersting mods you've done. We'll keep a master list of all the Pods wishing to participate and Pod Tours will be on a "on your own time" thing. We will check in with everyone at nightly meals if anyone needs help, has questions, wants to group up for a daytrip somewhere, or is looking for a certain Pod to tour. If need be we'll even help introduce you. Check by our site during Office Hours to check out the Pod Tour list! Meals are BYOU which is bring your own utensils. Show up on our Podluck nights with your dish to share, dinnerware, drinks, and your camp chairs to site #84. This includes the catered dinner night at the Pavillion. Be responsible with your Adult Beverages during the week. If you don't wave your beer koozie or your red solo cups at the Park Ranger or State Police as they drive through camp everything should be just fine. Every activity, meal, event, or gathering is 100% optional and up to each of you. There is a lot to see in the local surrounding areas so please feel free to spend your days sightseeing or touring around, or just hanging out around camp with your fellow Podders.
Monday October 8th 10-12 Office Hours, we'll be broadcasting the Swap Shop Show, and hosting anyone else who wants to sell items then can put up a table or something there on the grass area out front of us. This is also your time to stop and register with us, get your nametags, and pick up some items that might be up for grabs, you'll also start participating in some of our prize games that start early by visiting site 84. We will 100% be at our site those hours M-F every day for anything you need. Otherwise you'll have to track us down throughout camp, or at nightly gatherings starting Wednesday. Nightly Campfire

My wife already posted this on the R-Pod Facebook group a few days ago so it may be taken by now. We had site #106 for October 11th and 12th, and had to cancel so our spot may still be open if anyone wants to try and get them.
Hope everyone has fun...sorry we will miss it.

The rally has ended and most of the 'Pods are pulling out. We are staying an extra night. It has been a great week and it has been great meeting so many of the people from here and the Facebook group. The rains held off during the week until after dark. However, today the sky weeps that the 10th Anniversary Rally and Kentucky MiniMini is over.

Just a bit of record keeping, but our final tally was 114 Pods, 1 was a wild Pod and of course we had a few "former owners" in that list.
Including the 7 RVs Forest River stayed in 5 being R-Pods, 1 NoBo, and 1 Surveyor, we brought in 121 RVs to the park during the Rally, possibly one or two higher as a few members never officially checked in with us.
So there you have it, an amazingly successful Rally and wonderful celebration of 10 years for the R-Pod.
We'll see a lot of you at next year's Kentucky MiniMini™ and maybe we'll try to beat this record for the R-Pod 20th Anniversary someday.
