Came up to Twin Mountain with the Pod yesterday. Went to bed listening to the rain, right? Well guess what. We woke up to find 2" of snow outside. Yes, snow. 10° with wind chills below zero. Excellent!

We had similar experience this weekend.  Wanted to squeeze one more trip in this year at White Pines State Park (Illinois).
Packed up Sunday morning in snow. Love the Pod heater!

Even though it is noisy, it does kick out the heat.  We have been in Glacier and RMNP when the night temps are in the 30's with lots of wind; we stay warm, dry and cozy inside.

Last winter we were in Wyoming and stayed in it when the temperature was 4F (possibly lower) with significant wind chill. We stayed warm but went through a lot of propane in the process.

If I were a little smarter I'd post a picture of us "winter camping". How does a person post a photo here anyway?

One doesn't directly post a picture to the forum anymore. One needs to use a photo sharing site like postimage.org that can provide a link to insert into your post. I took a different tack. I set up my Linux system to have a basic web server and host my own photos. I use a dynamic DNS service and just post the link to the file that resides on my computer to my post when I want to have a picture with it.

Here is an example:

The R-Pod is set up at the Susquehanna Trail Campground in Oneonta, New York. We were one of only a few campers there. Most other campgrounds were shut down for the winter, but Susquehanna Trail is working to become one that can be used all year. The owner is installing freeze-proof hydrants for water. He stated that he needs to build a heated bath house and then he can stay open all year.

New York State is beautiful. In October we stopped 2 nights in Allegany State Park on way to visit nephew in Ithaca area.

Loving the off-season travel.
