I want to hang a storage container off the back of my 177. The frame appears to be too small. Has anyone beefed up there rear frame to attach a tray or hitch? Thanks

JimO, When I decided to hang bikes off the back from the hitch, I left the small square cross bar the hitch is mounted to and finished up welding all points the hitch and cross bar are welded to each other and the frame. They are only welded from the top side from the factory. I still don't think I would hang more than a couple of bikes though not the strongest set up with the small cross bar. The stock tire and carrier weigh in at 77 lbs, but I have seen a few pictures of pods with way more weight back there, makes me nervous though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jk9H5AB4lM - because of this video. Marwayne, how did your modifications affect the weight and balance issues? How much did you add to the front/back? What is the effect on the aerodynamics of the Pod? I like your round window in the door and the submarine decal. I've added a boat port hole in my door (it opens) and have been toying with the idea of adding fish scales and fins, but at this point it's just a malbec induced dream. ------------- Never leave footprints behind. My hitch weight is between 400 - 450 #, my loaded trailer ( without water ) is right around 3500 #. The aerodynamics, I don't really see any improvements as far as MPG, the biggest improvement I noticed, the pod tracks a lot smoother. I use a WDH with sway control.
