I just bought a 2017 R Pod 176. I want to add small windows at the head of each bunk for ventilation. Has any one out there done that?

I own a 172, same bunks, haven't done it or heard of it. I personally wouldn't do it. I wouldn't want any light waking me up in the morning. I sleep very well in my bunk.

Many of us have added windows to our doors. Adding windows is no different on a Pod than anything, make sure you have space and clearance and are not cutting aluminum rails. Not sure of size or window you have planned, has to be something capable of opening for ventilation. Good luck.

Thank you for your replies. I was just curious if anyone else had experienced doing what I am going to do. the windows I am going to use are only 8"high and 16"long and the whole window opens. they are actually port holes. they are nicely tinted and have screens. I have the windows already and have made black out covers for them when and if I want total darkness. I have located all the aluminum frame work with a stud finder and they do not interfere at all.

Do you have a link to your portholes? I'm not sure I want to put windows in my bunks, but sometimes it seems like a good idea. I'd like to see what you found.

I purchased them from Yaemart Marine 3837 Bay Lake Trail, Suite 115 North Las Vegas. I was a little misleading Re; the screens. I actually made them too. They do make Port Holes that come with screens but I didn't care for any of them.

What did you use for the blackout fabric? I buy mine online from a privately owned fabric store in California and very happy with it overall. It is a bit overkill (and heavy) for some uses so I'm interested in other options and sources too. Thanks!
