Leo, you are making up for us as we traveled 3 days Sept 3-5 (Labor Day weekend) from northern Michigan to Denver Colorado and counted a total of ZERO pods.  It took 3 days in Rocky Mountain National Park before we saw our 1st pod.  You are just one lucky guy!

We live in Coastal NC and travel frequently to/from Asheville area to see family and never see Pods unless at dealerships along the highways. Looking forward to getting ours finally next month and completing our first shakedown. We even came up with a name for ours already. Thanks to our son. Reveal to come later.

Podzilla was there last month and it loved OBX.  It is very eager to return.  Smile
We didn't see any other pods but the campground host was asking about ours...said she sees quite a few there and was interested in getting one.

Then there are the 'Oh, an R-Pod---No, it's only a clone" moments. I'd still like to see a "Down East" R-Pod gathering. The problem is organizing one.

So, Leo, how much longer are you going to be there?  Things are falling in place for our getting making it down to Frisco over the weekend. Looks like the weather is holding out pretty well.  A cold front coming through on Tuesday bringing temps down into the 70s during the day.  Still pretty tolerable.

If I didn't have that little thing called a job, I'd say pick me up as you're passing through! Never stayed at Frisco NPS CG but am dying to get there.

Frisco is a great campground.  Not hard to find a spot (depending on the season) that affords a bit of isolation.  And it's one of the prettiest campgrounds anywhere. Easy walk to the beach, almost always with deer along the way.  Nice bathrooms, cold showers, but no hookups of any kind.  Cell service is pretty good, so we can get on line in the morning or at night. Depending on what you want to do on the OBX it's fairly centrally located.  We get up to Kitty Hawk and points north but as a place to stay I really don't care for the congestion up there.  Ocracoke is is real handy, and I don't know why, but I really enjoy the ride over there and back.

We've stayed from Duck to Ocracoke over the years, both tent camping, popup camping and resort (not camping). Just got the Pod this past March and stayed at Ocean Waves CG a few months ago. I prefer to stay south of Nags Head just for the remote feel of the true Outer Banks. I do love to venture north as there is SO much to see and do. And we do love the ferry journey...very relaxing. We've driven through Frisco CG and do love the looks of the place. It's on our list for sure.

That's where we venture to as well to see my in-laws. Nice to get back to more "mountainous" country that I am used to back home once in a while.

If you are in the Raleigh area on your return trip, it would be great to get together.

We checked out the Frisco campground, Cape point and Oregon Inlet, really liked all of them and are going to work them into future plans.
Will check the map on the way back, that would be really nice!
