How easily does the dinette convert to a second bed and where do the "fill-in" cushions come from?

Drop the table remove the corner cushions, use the back cushion and the long skinny cushion that has no real use to fill the remaining gap. Quick and easy but keeping the cushions in place is another story. I suggest a extension strap for the strap use to secure the table while traveling. We have only tried using the dinette as a bed once with poor results if we were going to use it often I would purchase a twin size inflatable mattress like an Aerobed.

Thanks.  Trying to evaluate an upgrade from our 177.  So far, the 177 is winning...

We don’t even use it as a bed, set it up once when we first got the 179 , didn’t even look comfortable.
The couch is great for watching tv and stuff.

We have looked at the other models, we decided to keep our 177, best competitor for us was the 178.

Swapping out the cushions for an IKEA jackknife sofa (a.k.a. futon) was the best decision we've made with our 179. It's much more comfortable as a couch and as a bed.

Good synopsis. We do not take our table. If my daughter come she used the couch with a 3" foam mattress cut to fit. She is not a person that needs a king size bed to sleep. Pretty much stays in one place. We do have an additional 3" foam mattress that fills out the rest on the area if she wants us to take the table.

I had to sleep on the dinette cushions a couple weeks ago when I took my son and grandson with me.  The cushions of course kept coming apart.  I think I have solved this by using an old twin fitted sheet.  The cushion seem to bow slightly when I put on the sheet but it soon lays flat after laying on it.  I have not camped with it yet but it looks like it will work.

Try using anti-skid material used under scatter rugs - comes in a roll, looks like large-hole netting, but keeps cushions from sliding around, especially when they have some weight on them.
