I have finally learned how to turn the furnace thermostat to off. But when I turn the furnace to high, the air conditioner comes on. Mine is a 2017 model 178, weather is starting to get cooler at night here in California. Thanks

Actually, now I'm wondering if that's just the overhead fan to aid the circulation from the floor furnace?

We had the same issue.  The new thermostats are very tricky to operate.  I forgot how we do it but you have to make sure everything is off before you turn on the heater otherwise the AC goes on.  Sorry we do not have the RPOD with us now so I cannot go into it and see what the steps are but I am sure you are experiencing  the same thing we did.  During the walk through our dealer told us about it as he was getting several calls about a broken thermostat. Once we got it right the AC never came on when the furnace was turned on so I do not believe it is a fan circulating the furnace heat.  It certainly cannot be the vent fan as that is not connected to anything and has no thermostat.

The fan control on the thermostat must be set to AU (auto) to keep the overhead fan from coming on with the furnace.

My 2017 doesn't have an AU setting.
When I press the mode button once, the first thing i see is a fan icon, i can press the up/down button for high, low, or auto (all spelled out). I always choose auto. that of course sets the fan
I press mode again and it goes to the cool mode. I then can press the up/down arrow for desired temp. that is the a/c
If i press mode again, it goes into furnace mode. again up/down arrow adjusts desired temp. this is heat
The fourth press returns the mode back to the "off" position and nothing is turned on.

Auto is AU. I set it to furnace on Auto and it turns on the floor heater with propane.  The ceiling fan doesn't come on.
